Babyscripts, the leading virtual care platform for midwifery management, today announced two key leadership additions to the company, appointing new board member Sheila Schweitzer and vice president revenue executive, Shellé Jones. Ms. Schweitzer has more than 32 years of experience in the healthcare industry and brings to the Babyscripts Board considerable experience and success as a senior executive, investor and advisor. She is the founder and former CEO of PatientMatters Holding, LLC, a technology and patient engagement company that helps healthcare providers manage patient financial obligations. She was previously President and CEO of CareMedic, an HCIT revenue cycle management company; COO of MedUnite, a consortium of insurance/care management companies that created a health data exchange; CEO of Presideo, a biometric security platform for HCIT systems; and SVP, Operations of Envoy, the nation’s largest healthcare information clearinghouse.
“I am thrilled to work with Babyscripts as they continue to grow and work towards their mission of better pregnancies,” said Sheila Schweitzer. “Babyscripts’ mobile clinic solution is unique and has proven success in providing remote monitoring and education for pregnant women that improves the health of both mother and baby.”
Along with this announcement, Babyscripts is also welcoming Shellé Jones as Executive Vice President of Revenue. Ms. Jones previously served as Vice President of Payer Partnerships and Strategic Accounts at Babyscripts. In this role, she orchestrated and entered into multiple partnerships with national and regional health plans, significantly expanding Babyscripts’ market share in the payer space. Prior to joining Babyscripts, Jones spent over 15 years in commercial, strategic and operational leadership roles in healthcare, including 8 years leading strategic growth as Vice President of Strategic Partnerships for AccentCare and Graham Healthcare Group. In her new role at Babyscripts, Jones will leverage her expertise to create and lead the sales organization’s strategy to create new revenue streams and drive growth.
“I am thrilled to take on this new role with Babyscripts and have the opportunity to help bring better pregnancies to moms through partnerships with physician groups, health systems and health plans,” said Shellé Jones. “Women make the vast majority of healthcare decisions for their families and make up the majority of the hospital workforce. Bringing more female leadership to Babyscripts is an important step in becoming more patient-focused.
“Babyscripts’ mission is to provide the best in maternity care to women, especially those who are most at risk,” says Anish Sebastian, co-founder and CEO of Babyscripts. “Sheila and Shellé not only know intimately the challenges that uniquely affect women’s healthcare, but they are also the most qualified to meet these challenges due to their skills, experience and demonstrated success. The Babyscripts Maternal Mental Health Solution, a first-of-its-kind product for provider-facilitated real-time remote monitoring of maternal mental health, is currently in beta testing at George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates (GW MFA ), where it is the subject of a focused research study.
