This company allows all of its 40,000 employees to work from home permanently

New Delhi: At a time when several companies are preparing to put an end to the culture of work from home and to start working from home soon, here is a company that has put in place a new policy to allow its employees to work from home at life. Yes, you heard right. Accounting and consulting firm PwC announced this week that it will allow its 40,000 US customer service employees to work virtually and live anywhere they want in perpetuity to embrace permanent remote working. Also Read – Kerala Relaxes Lockdown Restrictions, Allows Reopening Of Theaters And Auditoriums From October 25 | Check out the guidelines here

Besides PwC, other major accounting firms such as Deloitte and KPMG have also given employees more choices to work remotely in the wake of the COVID pandemic. Also Read – Maharashtra Schools Reopening News: Varsha Gaikwad Reviews Preparation With Officials Ahead Of Class Resumption From October 4

Speaking to Reuters, PwC deputy personnel manager Yolanda Seals-Coffield said the company was the first in its industry to offer full-time virtual work to customer service employees. According to the update, firm support staff and employees in areas such as human resources and legal operations who do not directly deal with clients have the option of working virtually full time. For more details, Seals-Coffield said PwC employees who choose to work virtually will need to travel to the office a maximum of three days per month for in-person appointments such as critical team meetings, clients and learning sessions.

Stating that location is important to the compensation of PwC employees, Seals-Coffield said employees who choose to work virtually full-time from a lower-cost location will see their pay cut.

It should be noted that Alphabet Inc’s Google also determined employee salaries based on location, with those who work from home all the time potentially earning less.

However, PwC said associates at the firm whose team members choose to be in the office on a regular basis will not be allowed to work remotely.

It should be noted that PwC has its global headquarters in London and its US headquarters are located in New York. In a statement, the company said in June that all of its 20,000 employees in Britain would be allowed to choose in the future whether they worked from home or not.
