Upinder Singh Joins BHEL Board of Directors as Power Segment Director; inventory slippages ~1%


Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has informed investors and exchanges that Shri Upinder Singh Matharu has been appointed Director (Power) on the Board of Directors of BHEL effective March 21, 2022 until August 31, 2023.

Newly Appointed Director (Power) Shri Upinder Singh Matharu has provided a statement that he is not barred from holding the position of Director under any SEBI order or order of any other such authority .

Currently, BHEL’s Board of Directors consists of 12 directors, chaired and managed by Dr. Nalin Singhal.

Shri Matharu graduated in Mechanical Engineering in 1984 from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. He holds a graduate degree in business administration (marketing) in addition to being a government. Energy Manager and Auditor certified by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE).

Shri Matharu has been associated with BHEL since 1985 and first joined the company’s Industrial Valves Plant (IVP) at Goindwal when the plant was established. He has a diverse and versatile experience of almost 37 years.

BHEL is currently trading at Rs50.25 down Rs0.45 or 0.89% from its previous close of Rs50.70 on BSE. The certificate opened at Rs50.70 and touched a high and a low of Rs50.90 and Rs50.10 respectively.
